Twelve Finishs in 2021

To my surprise I did finish twelve quilts in 21! Recap of what kept me busy in 2021 quilting-wise:

January:

I signed up for Color blocks - a scrap  quilt along - 12 quilts in 12 months.  What really excited me was she was going to show us how to quilt the quilts with our domestic sewing machines.  Yeah!!  Here's my first one called Suitable for Framing. 36" square.

March - I started on February's, but didn't finish it. I finished this one instead. It's my SAHRR - Stay at Home Round Robin. It has already started for 2022 if you want to join. If so, go here.  I enjoyed this, but will not be joining this year as I'm doing another quilt along.

Another for March is that February Color Blocks QAL quilt I started last month.
This one is also 36" square and again I did quilt it as Debbie demonstrated. It is different than her design as I wanted to use hearts. This will be my Valentine's quilt for February to hang in my living room.

June - Life got in the way for April and May.  Here's one I finished in June - another Color Blocks quilt.

Same as March - another Color Blocks Quilt quilted with the new motif Debby taught us. Also 36" square and made for our church group to give to a newborn.

July - I've been working on several each month trying to get close to finish and this month found me with two finishes.

This was a top I created from stash scraps for our Church group. I make tops and hand it over to another member of our group to finish it into a baby quilt.

This is a panel the our guild board gave us for our Christmas in July. I ordered a charm patch that matched the panel and then put it together with a 1/2" border of black and then the charms. I quilted it with a snowflake motif shared by Debby in the Color Blocks QAL.

August - found me finishing three!  First one was started in 2020 but it had taken me a while to finish because it was a paper piecing project.

But once I got those crabs done I could move on to the next step of piecing those other blocks and quilting it. It was fun and challenging to try to depict a beach scene among the crabs all headed out to sea.

Second one I had started in 2020 also, and from my scraps again - My Kitty Kucumber baby quilt.

This was an experiment in solids (for the most part). I wanted to keep this one, however, I was good and gave it to the Church group. Those little diamonds turned out to be 1"  square. Got some of those kitties left - wonder what I'll do with them?

Last one for August  - Caring flowers:

This was a quilt top started by one of our Church group members and destined for a parishoner who was going to have brain cancer (she did great and is all well now).  I made five more blocks and finished the top as I had some more flower fabric to use.  This measured 42" square. The flowers made it so busy I just meandered all over the top.

September - Since March I have been care giving my Mom two full days of the week.  She lives an hour away. I don't mind at all doing this (She is my Mom), but the traffic is horrible, so I stay overnight between my two days.  Mom is 95 years old and always cold.  When I saw this Hoffman Call of the Wild panel, I knew I had to make her a quilt - she loves swans and has a big collection of them.

I saw this rendering of the panel somewhere on the NET - might have been Pinterest, but was never able to find to whom to give credit.  Whoever you are, your design is beautiful.  I FMQ'd along the design, and used masking tape to make the straight lines in the sky.  The fabrics for the border and binding were all in my stash. She uses it every day.

December arrived and ended with two finishes.
Not a very good photo, but that's all I have.  Another Color Blocks QAL from which I used the wavy lines with walking foot and the wavy stitch to quilt this. The center has 4 red animals from that charm pack from the polar bear panel.

And lastly I finished my ADHOC challenge (the 2022 is now starting). Here you see it without the thin side border and the dots in the center. I can't believe I didn't take a photo.

I quilted it with much FMQ and a quilting motif of diamonds in the string blocks.  It took a Long time.
Well, it's done and I look forward to hanging it in the living room next Christmas. If I can remember to photograph it, I 'll add later.

What have you been up to?  I'd love to see.

Thank you for stopping by. It's always nice to hear from you. I try to reply to each and every one of you, but sometimes life gets in the way. I hope you understand. Blessings.

All Comes to A Halt

Sighhhh....  While I was quilting I  ran my finger, somehow, under the needle. Went right through my left index fingernail right through to...
