Happy to report I've finished my FMN morning glory block for now.
I fused and positioned the flower heads and embroidered the tendrils. I've decided to save the rest of the thread work for when I quilt this. Now to start the Crown of Thorns block.
I'm linking over to Connie's Linky Tuesday and Lyn's BOMs Away as this is a BOM block. What are you working on?

Fabric Tuesday - Wow
Well the first row is quilted. I will do the sashing between them and below the first row after I add the second row. Here on the right, you see it pinned ready to be sewn.
Once that's done, I'll repin-baste the new row so that I don't have any wrinkles on the back. It's back to the floor to do that. I'll have to look into getting a table to do the basting as Cindy Needham recommends in her Craftsy class.

More Blocks 1/10/11
Two more of the pieced Just Takes 2 blocks done. I'm showing them here with the one I did Sunday. I could make a whole quilt out of the yellow block - it's so pretty! One more and I'll be done before the 15th when we get the next installment.
Don't know why the color came out so dark in the square in a square. Here's what it really looks like:

3RD UFO done!
I'm so thrilled that I actually got another ufo done. This is my completed coverlet. It is made all from scraps(the pieces around the main block and the applique), orphan blocks (the dresden plate block), swap blocks( the two rows of nine patches and four churn dash) and yard sale fabric (the back is an old curtain I picked up at a garage sale). It's going on my bed in the summers for a light covering.
A coverlet has no batting, so I opted to construct this by the stitch and flip method. I centered the main block in the middle of the curtain and built the quilt from there. So it was quilted as it was assembled - a different kind of QAYG. I should have appliqued the strips before I sewed them in place. You can hear paper crinkle inside the flowers as I couldn't cut it out because the back was the finished product. Oh well - not that much applique that it is a bother. I brought the back forward for the binding - my first medallion quilt.

Fabric Tuesday 9/27/11
Here is my revised Fallen Dishes. If you haven't seen it before, it was the topic of my previous post. I really like it better with a smaller outside border. You were right, Bertie - not so overwhelmed now. Thank you! And Billie - now we have the better of both worlds - a brown border and an applique that pops.

Fabric Tuesday or...
another 15 minutes of playing with those 2 blocks - now they are 4 - actually a 4-patch. They turned out 7 1/2" square and are now joined - the piece is 14 1/2" square. Where am I going with this? Maybe tomorrow I'll know.Be sure to go to the left sidebar and click on the button Fabric Tuesday to see some great eye candy from the Quilt Story blog.
Design Wall Late or rather Fabric Tuesday
I forgot to post this on Design Wall Monday, so I'm posting it on Fabric Tuesday. If you're the first to guess what kind of quilt I"m making, I'll send you 2 fat quarters. Be sure to leave your email address in your comment if you use anonymous. For some great eye candy be sure to click on the buttons on my left sidebar to see what's new at Judy's Design Wall Monday and Fabric Tuesday.
Always great.
Borders are being added on Fabric Tuesday
My quilt-along quilt is growing. Three sides of border nearly done. Measure in center of quilt to cut the borders. This is the first time I used this low loft Fairfield batting and it has scrunched up the quilt more than with warm and natural upon quilting, so I have to ease in a bit on this third border. I'll just stretch the quilt a tad to match them. Gonna be pretty pink - love it. I use to say I didn't like pink, but since it's a different shade of red (at least to me it is) that what's not to like!

Fabric Tuesday 3/22
I read my blogs as time permits and found this great post at Stash Manicure. This is a great way to make a string quilt variation. So I thought what would happen if I used a couple of orphan blocks? Here's what I got. Not bad, but I don't like all the seams that have to be matched. Wonder what it would be like to use a solid square as the second block. Hmmm, maybe I'll try it on my next experiment.
Bet you can guess what one of the orphan blocks was. See if you can guess.
