Stash Report 6/10/12

Not much sewing going on here.  I'm happy to report feeling better everyday.  Today is the first day I've felt more myself since the surgery.  It will be a week Wednesday.  I did have a finish of sorts.  Here's my 4th Jubilee Album block.  When I can't do much, I appliqued.  That had me use a few scraps.  Today I did cut up a yard's worth of 5 inches squares to make a charm pack I will use in the next charity quilt.  Here are my numbers:
Used/Donated last week: 1.01yards
Used/Donated YTD: 67.23 yards
Added/Bought last week: 0.0 yards
Added/Bought YTD: 27.5 yards
------------------------------
Net Decrease YTD: 39.73 yards   Have to use 10 yards in these last weeks of June to be on target for my goal.  Will I make it?

Stash Report 6/3/12

Worked on several things last week, most importantly two BOM blocks and three charity quilts which used up yardage - yeah! Here are my numbers:
Used/Donated last week: 4.75 yards
Used/Donated YTD: 66.22 yards
Added/Bought last week: 6.00 yards   Couldn't resist an online special of Liberty Fabrics.
Added/Bought YTD: 27.5 yards
------------------------------
Net Decrease YTD: 38.72 yards  Gone down a bit, but not by much!  And I love the fabrics I bought - they will be for applque.

Added/Bought this week: 0.00 yards

Used/Donated YTD: 61.34 yards
Added/Bought this week: 0.00 yards

Stash Report - Happy Mother's Day 5/13/12

It has been some week.  Monday - funeral; Tuesday - babysit Alan; Wednesday - off to Duarte to babysit Frank and Lily; Thursday - St. Anne's; Friday - recover; Saturday - all day class.  Nothing in and nothing out.  Hope to do better this coming week.  Here are my numbers (not that they've changed):
Used/Donated this week: 0.0 yards
Used/Donated YTD: 61.31 yards
Added/Bought this week: 0.00 yards
Added/Bought YTD: 21.5 yards
------------------------------
Net Decrease YTD: 39.81 yards

To all the mothers I know and share with - Happy Mother's Day!

Stash Report 5/6/12

Lots of babysitting this past week, less time piecing so I didn't use all that much.  A yard for plain blocks in a VA quilt, an 1/8th for applique block.  And 5/8ths yard for a charity quilt where I am testing the pattern - wait! - another 1/3rd for another charity top using the left over tubes from the girls quilts I'm binding.  Here are my numbers:
Used/Donated this week: 2.08 yards

Used/Donated YTD: 61.31 yards
Added/Bought this week: 0.00 yards
Added/Bought YTD: 21.5 yards
------------------------------
Net Decrease YTD: 39.81 yards

Stash Report 3/18/12

Started Esther's BOM (see button on sidebar for Forget me Not), so that pulled 4.5 yards out of my stash.  Found a back for a ufo, so there's 1.5 yards more.  Then made a small project, two more blocks and a DJ block for another .8 yards.  Here are my numbers:
Used/Donated this week: 6.8yards
Used/Donated YTD: 39.15 yards
Added/Bought this week: 0.0 yards
Added/Bought YTD: 21.5 yards
--------------------------------
Net Used YTD: 16.65 yards

Considering how other things pulled me away from quilting, I'm happy with my numbers for this week although I should be at 22 for my projected goal to come true - oh well, will keep plugging away at it.

Stash Report 2/19/12

Used .25 yards for my FMQ sandwiches. Started a charity quilt that uses up another 2.25 yards - actually it is a receiving blanket and will be tied by St. Anne's Sewdality members. Here's a closeup of the fabric.
And here are my numbers:
Used/Donated this week: 2.50 yards
Used/Donated YTD: 21.1 yards
Added/Bought this week: 0.0 yards
Added/Bought YTD: 8.00 yards
--------------------------------
Net YTD: 13.1 yards

Falling behind - should be at 14 yards.

Stash Report 1/8/12

Well, despite being sick (have to do something sitting around here) the two charity quilts are flimsies - that's the part I do.  They go on to other members of St. Anne's who sandwich, tie and sometimes bind.  The rag quilt gets clipped by another member - I get sore fingers doing it.
So I used 1 yard for backing the blue and purple charity quilt; half yard for the last small border and the binding.  Then I put together (all from stash) a top using some old blocks that came my way (hand pieced) plus borders and backing for another 2 yards.  This will be a present for one of my friends plus my practice piece for stippling in the FMQ project Leah Day is hosting (see my side bar).  Here are my numbers:
Used/Donated this week: 3.5 yards
Used/Donated YTD: 5.46 yards
Bought this week 0.00
--------------------------------
Net YTD 5.46 yards

Stash Report 1/1/11

Happy New Year!  It is a glorious day here.  At 11am, I went along the south side of the house and opened all the windows.  Reason being:  79.4 temp outside; 69.6  inside.  We live about one hour and a half north of paradise (aka San Diego) and we get weather like that some years.

I was happy with my numbers for the Stash Report 2011 and hope to duplicate the numbers this year.  So my goal is 100 yards again.  And thanks to Judy's Stash Report blog post each Sunday, I will keep motivated.  My weekly goal is to have something positive to report.  It may not be much sometimes, we'll see.

This week I backed some squares (1.33 yards worth) for our Guild Sampler BOM Raffle.  Used  1/4 yard to bind a charity quilt.  Used a fat eighth to make some squares and another 1/4 yard to make a table runner out of scraps.

So my numbers are:
Used/Donated this week:  1.96
Used/Donated YTD:         1.96
Bought this week               0.00
--------------------------------
Used/Donated YTD          1.96

Woohoo!  I'm in the black!
How about you?  Go on over to Judy's blog and see how others did and report your numbers.

Progrees is Made

Progress is made, at least some.  More blocks were added to the baby quilt I was working on (see previous post). More scraps were used. I...
