Some of This; Some of That 4/28/19

I've finished my medallion bunny quilt top. I've named it Bunny in the Garden.
Measures 36.5 by 38.5" . It will go to St. Anne's as a baby quilt for low-income mothers. I'm quilting it now.

Stash Report: I used  1.86 yds for this quilt.  Also used .20 yd for the other medallion. Added second quilt round.

Now measures 14.5 by 16.5"  - all from a scrap bag. That's it for fabric.  The new YTD total for destashing is  40.78 yds.

Again didn't have time to post my likes on Thursday, but here are a few shots of my past week:
Another morning bouquet from DH's shade house

An empty carport - car at dealers for A/C work. Boohoo.

Primrose at their prime early one morning
I'm so happy that the car repair turned out to be only 1/10th of what we expected. Woohoo!

In the 15 minutes to Stitch, 2019 - I had one day without stitching this week.  New stats read:
15 minute days/week = 6/7 days
15 minute days/April = 23/27 days
15 minute days/2019 = 109/117 days
Success rate = 93.16%

Some of This; Some of That

On my design wall is my bunny medallion - 3rd round done.  Now measures 25.5 by 28.5".

Think I'll go for an all over print for the next round with "wonder of wonders" mitered corners.  We'll see if I have enough yardage for that. Can anyone tell me the extra number of inches I need for mitered corners.  Thanks!

Stash report:  0.48 yd for the scrap medallion bunny quilt top.  0.12 for scrap medallion Hawaii top. Then for all the trials I've done while working on my own two medallion round stitch a longs, I've used 1.6 yds so far this month. Year to date total now is 38.72 yds of destashing.

In the 15 minutes to Stitch, 2019 - I had some days with stitching this month.  New stats read:

15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
15 minute days/April = 8/20 days
15 minute days/2019 = 95/110 days

Success rate = 86.36%

That's what happens when life gets in the way.

We celebrate it for 40 days. Live with joy in this season.  Peace be with you.

Design Wall Monday

Up on my design wall is my mini medallion quilt from scraps - first round done with Flying Nene geese - state bird of Hawaii.  Now measures 8 1/2 by 10 1/2.

I'll be linking to Oh, Scrap!, Design Wall Monday, Moving it Forward and BOMs Away. Visit for quilty goodness.

I'm hand stitching my 12th applique for Anna's Garden. That should give me my 15 minutes to stitch for Kate's party.  I've been so busy I'v been 3 days without sewing in the last two weeks. Sigh. Here's the block in process. I've done the leaves on the bottom and working on the others. Have a quilty week!

Some of This; Some of That

Remember that unit for my Anna's Garden that I couldn't get to the right size.  I figured it out! I opened up my EQ6, made the block, and printed the templates. Phew - I thought I was never going to get finished with these blocks.
Here's the first dud and the correct unit.  You can see the points will be visible on the one on the right.

Now to make three more.  They'll go faster as I can chain piece them according to DD.

Still quilting my UFO. Must be done by Monday. Gulp.

So from the garden here's some photos:
love these spectacular orange flowers

Here's Turok (from Avatar) of the plant world
And finally a photo of my DGD at the park.  She's having fun!
Go on over to I Like Thursdays for some great photos.

On My Design Wall

Still contemplating what to do with those tiny blocks. In the meantime, I made a flannel back for the next baby quilt and kept quilting that UFO - half way done now.  The flannel was a donation to St. Anne's, so it doesn't count toward destashing.  Did use .05 yd for the medallion quilt. My YTD grew to 37.17 yds - sigh.

The heat is on - our high today was 94.  Rest of the week, it's back down to the low 70s.  Glad I took this photo:

Now it's a wilted shriveled blob of yellow.  How long do flowers last in your yard?

I Like Thursdays

Staying close to home so don't have many photos to share. However, here are a few close by to show.

I like how my UFO quilting is going - slowly with all the wood grain I'm trying to make.  Can you make out the shape I'm aiming for?
The garden is giving some surprises.
These have not stopped blooming since November.

Our Christmas Poinsettia.  People have asked me if it is plastic.
LOL - it's not.

And then there are these Irises
They are going to be spectacular, especially as we're having cool weather still. I hope it fully opens soon as it's suppose to be 88 degrees Monday.

I found a lovely quilt I'd like to make, so it's off to the bucket list. I found it in a Facebook group I follow.
All machine pieced, but I can see doing it using paper piecing too.

Lastly, I like how DGS#4 is growing, and he's only 8.  Lol, but then I'm only 4-11.

Do go over to Lee Anna's I Like Thursdays for other reports. Have a blessed week.
