Table Scraps Challenge for June

I was sorting scraps from a new bag of them from a friend, and came across a stripe fabric. Eureka - just what I needed for the June Table Scraps Challenge. So I dropped everything and made a mug rug. This is a 4" one as that was the size of the batting scrap. I was even able to use Angela's RSC Color of the Month as there is light and dark blue in this stripe fabric.

I used two different colors of thread to bind my mini - blue on top and deep rose on the back.  You can do this if your tension is just right.

I'm linking to the Table Scraps ChallengeFinished or Not Friday, as well as Angela's So Scrappy Saturday(link above). Come on over and see what quilters are up to. Blessings,

I finished my quilt top for baby.  This one grew from one orphan block - a four patch (uppermost right) .  I put it on the design wall and it grew from there! The squares for the four patch were four inches so the square come out to a 7.5 inch unfinished block unit. I had some more panel blocks that I inserted, and one flower block I just couldn't cut up.  All of the material came from scraps except for the spinning wheel fabric. Still needs to be sandwiched, quilted and bound, but that's for another St. Anne's member to do.

I'm linking to Design Wall Monday. Go on over to see what others are working on.
Blessings,

Okay, I did finally finish a UFO.  It's back from 2011.  It needed sandwiching, quilting and binding.
This was when our guild was making wheel chair quilts for the local Veteran's hospital.  They were to be 36" x 48"  - a 12 block quilt.  This one is for an Air Force vet.
Here's why I love cacti:
The plant had over 36 blooms on it.  It was very impressive. The yellow is so rich,

And I've heard there is a red variety!  I will look for it.  This is in the street side planting of our house. The walkway up to our front door is behind this planting.

What are you up to?  I'd surely like to know.  Blessings for you this coming week.

Progrees is Made

Progress is made, at least some.  More blocks were added to the baby quilt I was working on (see previous post). More scraps were used. I...
