Some of This; Some of That

Remember that unit for my Anna's Garden that I couldn't get to the right size.  I figured it out! I opened up my EQ6, made the block, and printed the templates. Phew - I thought I was never going to get finished with these blocks.
Here's the first dud and the correct unit.  You can see the points will be visible on the one on the right.

Now to make three more.  They'll go faster as I can chain piece them according to DD.

Still quilting my UFO. Must be done by Monday. Gulp.

So from the garden here's some photos:
love these spectacular orange flowers

Here's Turok (from Avatar) of the plant world
And finally a photo of my DGD at the park.  She's having fun!
Go on over to I Like Thursdays for some great photos.

On My Design Wall

Still contemplating what to do with those tiny blocks. In the meantime, I made a flannel back for the next baby quilt and kept quilting that UFO - half way done now.  The flannel was a donation to St. Anne's, so it doesn't count toward destashing.  Did use .05 yd for the medallion quilt. My YTD grew to 37.17 yds - sigh.

The heat is on - our high today was 94.  Rest of the week, it's back down to the low 70s.  Glad I took this photo:

Now it's a wilted shriveled blob of yellow.  How long do flowers last in your yard?

I Like Thursdays

Staying close to home so don't have many photos to share. However, here are a few close by to show.

I like how my UFO quilting is going - slowly with all the wood grain I'm trying to make.  Can you make out the shape I'm aiming for?
The garden is giving some surprises.
These have not stopped blooming since November.

Our Christmas Poinsettia.  People have asked me if it is plastic.
LOL - it's not.

And then there are these Irises
They are going to be spectacular, especially as we're having cool weather still. I hope it fully opens soon as it's suppose to be 88 degrees Monday.

I found a lovely quilt I'd like to make, so it's off to the bucket list. I found it in a Facebook group I follow.
All machine pieced, but I can see doing it using paper piecing too.

Lastly, I like how DGS#4 is growing, and he's only 8.  Lol, but then I'm only 4-11.

Do go over to Lee Anna's I Like Thursdays for other reports. Have a blessed week.

Progrees is Made

Progress is made, at least some.  More blocks were added to the baby quilt I was working on (see previous post). More scraps were used. I...
