More on the retreat.

Remember this? I was making a snack mat/mug rug for the retreat and that's all I could show of the crumb block.  It turned into: a hexie rose with leaves.  Tassie won it when we played the left, right game (or was it the dice game?).  I got a cute pumpkin mug rug from Yvonne.

There were a lot of other cute creations. I just forgot to take photos of them.

I also worked on a Sweet Land of Liberty block. It needed some embroidered words.  Got that done the first day there - albeit, slowly as we were all chatting away more than we were sewing.   When one can't bring a machine - hand work is just the thing.  I'll remember that for the next retreat.
Here's my block and pumpkin.

 Go over to Lee Anna's

to see more likes for the week. And don't miss Kathy's Slow Sunday Stitching next Sunday.

Great Time had by all

Back from retreat in Independence, Missouri.  What a great time that was!  Here's some photos I took:

Peyten was such a sweetie and the most well behaved little girl I've ever been on a field trip with.  She was curious about everything, shopped like a pro and as enthusiastic as any quilter at Hamilton, MO, home of Missouri Star Quilt Company -

More later.

Some of This; Some of That

Destashing - 2 yds for an envelope quilt,  1 yd for a backing, .25 yd for a crumb block and its backing (I can't show yet as it's part of a swap), 2.33 yds of flannel for a rag quilt, 3 yds for fat quarter games, .06 yd for my twinkle star block, .12 yd for some book marks, and 1 yd for the St. Anne's quilt top for a 9.76 yds used:
This was another scrap bag quilts - all scraps except border. That's a floral I was given years ago, and it seemed just right to me to use as a border. Measures 36" square. I used the last of a cute cat print I got long time ago. Here's a close up:

My new YTD total is  56.27 yds destashed out of the 68 yards I need at this time to meet my year-end goal. I'm packing for my trip to Missouri.  What does a quilter put into one suitcase to work on for three days at a retreat?  I'm use to taking everything but the kitchen sink when I go to local ones - lol.

I"m linking to Finish it Up Friday, Sunday Stash, Let's Make Baby Quilts, and Oh Scrap!
I'll try to figure out how to post via my cellphone.  Have a great week.

Progrees is Made

Progress is made, at least some.  More blocks were added to the baby quilt I was working on (see previous post). More scraps were used. I...
