Some of This; Some of That

Destashing - 2 yds for an envelope quilt,  1 yd for a backing, .25 yd for a crumb block and its backing (I can't show yet as it's part of a swap), 2.33 yds of flannel for a rag quilt, 3 yds for fat quarter games, .06 yd for my twinkle star block, .12 yd for some book marks, and 1 yd for the St. Anne's quilt top for a 9.76 yds used:
This was another scrap bag quilts - all scraps except border. That's a floral I was given years ago, and it seemed just right to me to use as a border. Measures 36" square. I used the last of a cute cat print I got long time ago. Here's a close up:

My new YTD total is  56.27 yds destashed out of the 68 yards I need at this time to meet my year-end goal. I'm packing for my trip to Missouri.  What does a quilter put into one suitcase to work on for three days at a retreat?  I'm use to taking everything but the kitchen sink when I go to local ones - lol.

I"m linking to Finish it Up Friday, Sunday Stash, Let's Make Baby Quilts, and Oh Scrap!
I'll try to figure out how to post via my cellphone.  Have a great week.

I like Thursdays

I like to re-purpose and this past week I've done a bit of that.
This block has scraps of black and a paisley I saved from long ago.
Then I took an old pillowcase from my rag bag and cut out 8 squares and made that block into a twinkle star for a new project (New Project for 6and6 in 2018).

Then I pulled out my scrap bag of batiks and hand dyes and started this crumb block:
I have an idea for this one, too, however this is a one block quickie.

How about you?  Have any likes you want to share?  Leave a comment. I'd like to know.  Also, you can see other I Like Thursdays at Lee Anna's.

Blessings,

6and6 in 2018 Progress - August

It's time to report on my challenge progress.  Not much got done in August.  It was a month too full of summer. I quilted a baby quilt from a top my mom made.

I made two blocks for a new project I started earlier in the year (Meadow by Jen Kingwell)
  and

I also quilted another for mom:

This is a preemie quilt.

I didn't even pull out the UFO designated for the month.  So that's it for August goals.

I'm not sure I'll do much better in September as I"m going away for a quilt retreat in Missouri and have babysitting duty each weekday hence.  I"m looking forward to it. My ufo to work on in September is #9.  I have to assemble the quilt top and add two borders. All the blocks are done.

Thatis it for reporting on August. Do visit Meredithe and Anne's 6and6in2018  and also Judy's UFO challenge - both to which I'm linking.  Blessings!
