October is behind us. Does that put us in the Winter months? I think it does. The skies have been foggy in the mornings - a thick fog that doesn't go away until near noon. So strange for us here in SoCal. I've gotten the backing for Project H which was October's UFO. Designed by Shelly Pagliai of Prairie Moon Quilts for a special retreat. She made it into mostly 12" blocks, but I didn't want such a big quilt, so I made my blocks to be 6" finished blocks instead. Now to find batting that fits it. It's sad that there is only one quilt store in our city, and Riverside has over 325K citizens. We use to have 4 at one time. Makes shopping harder for us quilters who want to see the fabric we are buying. Here's the quilt flimsy:
Also, I'm back working on another baby quilt for St. Anne's. Piecing the 9 1/2" blocks now, and putting them up on my design wall as I make some progress.
What's up on your design wall? Leave me a comment and I'll come and take a look at your work. I'm adding this to Design Wall Monday and Alicia's Quilty Girl. See you there.
Blessings,

Such a pretty quilt, and doing the smaller versions of the blocks is a good idea. Your new baby quilt will be very cute. Scrappy is just a favorite of mine.
ReplyDeleteThey weren't hard, but some of the blocks called for tiny blocks. It was fun working it out. I love scrappy too. Thanks for stopping by.
DeleteI LOVE your sampler Angie
ReplyDeleteEspecially the prairie house on the left
beautiful mix of low volume and focus fabrics. How will you quilt it? Love, Leeanna
I'm thinking of doing straight line quilting. There are so many straight lines in this. Still thinking about it. Hope your feeling better.
Deletei really like project H - what a fun quilt. Hopefully the fog gives in... I'm not a fan of fog haha
ReplyDeleteThank you, Alyce.. I really like it, too. Just have to cut out the batting and I'll be ready to sandwich.
DeleteYes, the cold winds of Winter have definitely blown in here on the East Coast! Added to the early darkness due to the change in Daylight Savings it really makes you want to just stay in most days. I really like that sampler quilt, it must have been a fun retreat! I'll do that too -- adjust the blocks to make them the size (or size quilt) I want to have. Fun donation quilt too!
ReplyDeleteWhy thank you, Vivian. Got the donation quilt done as a flimsy. I now have four donation quilts to quilt. But that will go fast once I get them sandwiched. I dislike the dark mornings due to DST.
