I have a finish that comes 19 years after its start. My dear 13 year-old niece came for a week visit and we decided to make a quilt. I made the blocks and let her design the quilt. It was mostly blue and yellow as they were her favorite colors then. We finished the quilt and she left it with me to quilt. Nineteen years ago I was a very beginner quilter and I didn't have money to have it long armed. So it sat.
Spurred on by my joining Dive into UFOs in 2025 (on Facebook) and sponsored by( crazymoosefabrics.com on web and Facebook), I finally got back to it.
What are you up to? Leave me a comment and I'll visit your blog and have a look at your doings. I'm leaving this post at Monday Musings. Have a look at others fine work. Blessings,

Wow, she'll be so happy! Is it a surprise or does she know it's coming.
ReplyDeleteIt's a surprise.
DeleteWhat an awesome present for your niece, Angie! And this is great to finish after so long a time. Great job! Thanks for sharing with us at Monday Musings. Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Brenda. I hope she likes it.
DeleteJust taking a look around since your recent FONF post was my first visit. Isn't it great to get a "mature" project finally done?!? It's satisfying and encouraging when we realize that the road blocks of our early quilting days are much lower hurdles as our experience grows. So, did you gift it to your neice and what did she think? Is she ready to make another one with you??
ReplyDeleteHer birthday is in December, so will know then. Thank you for your nice comment.
