Some of This; Some of That

Stash Report:  Used .48 yards in making 17 six inch blocks. Also used .5 yds for my eagle. Donated 1 yd for a giveaway at Guild. New YTD total is  66.18 yds destashed.

On my design wall for the 17ufosin2017  in Oct is a WIP NOT on the list.  The eagle was sitting on top of one of my bookshelves. I picked it up and started to work on it again at the first of this month, pretty much like the Christmas WIP I worked on in October.
The block settings will change a bit - have three more blocks to make and the background to the eagle to cut. I'm thinking I'm picking up other UFOs and making them WIPs because some of the projects on my list have too much work. Ugh.

What are you up to?  Come by and I'll visit to see your work. I'm linking up to Oh, Scrap!, Design Wall Monday, BOMs Away, Moving it Forward, and Monday Making.

Blessings!

  1. I also find when I create a list of UFOs to finish at the beginning of the year that my interests are elsewhere by the end of the year. All progress is good!

  2. That's a pretty solid destashing effort this year. Love your eagle block, you've made a lot of progress over the last week.

  3. Eventually all those UFOs can weigh you down. I've been trying to do SOMETHING with whatever I have finished, even if the end result is an entirely different quilt.

  4. I have a hard time sticking to a list I make at the beginning of the year -- I'm with quiltpaincreate -- my interests change as the year goes on! I like this eagle WIP you're working on!

  5. We are so close to the end of the year, and it's so busy too! I'm sticking with some easy, peasy stuff until January--lol! Love all your blocks!

  6. I agree progress is the goal. Done is only a state of mind.

And now would you please tell me if this is a pattern, modified, or what? I'm curious about the name of the block on the upper right side.

  8. Hey, that eagle is really neat, and I love the blocks you're putting with it. I'm not going to get to all 17 of the projects I listed at the beginning of the year. I've finished/advanced more than 17 at this point, but some of those were gifts not on the list, and some were things I really wanted to work on far more than any of the list options. I figure it's a guideline more than anything else. :)

  9. Well I guess we all or all most all of us did try and stick with our goals but we all were all side tracked to. I’m just so happy I did work on at least 50% of them, even finished a couple of tops. Your eagle quilt is going to very interesting to see it grow. Lovely colours in the blocks. Cheers Glenda

  10. You are doing very well in using up fabric. I never keep track, but am trying to use it up and not buy more fabric. If I keep at it, someday I will notice the stash going down. I like your eagle. What is the name of the quilt pattern?

  11. I struggle with UFO challenges for the same reason. Your blocks look great!

  12. In my house, the UFOs are all WIPs, because I plan to get to them, ... sometime. LOL This eagle is a great project, and if you felt like working on it, then you should!

  13. The blocks you are putting with the eagle work perfectly with it! Having one less UFO when your finished will be good, too.

Thank you for stopping by. It's always nice to hear from you. I try to reply to each and every one of you, but sometimes life gets in the way. I hope you understand. Blessings.

All Comes to A Halt

Sighhhh....  While I was quilting I  ran my finger, somehow, under the needle. Went right through my left index fingernail right through to...
