Applique Thursday 11/10/11 and a Giveaway!

Hello, this is late.  I try to post early in the morning, but today I got ready for our St. Anne's group meeting and didn't even turn on the computer until 3pm PDT.  And have I had time to applique?  Nope!
But here is the next block I will be working on - another of the Jubilee Album Series quilt.  This one is called Tall Tulips.  I hope to start working on it soon! Like tomorrow - even if it's just cutting out the 15" muslim block I need to trace the pattern on the back.

Now for the giveaway! To one lucky person, I'm giving a copy of Terrific Table Toppers with Patrick Lose.  Lots of applique here!

Okay, here’s how it works:
For one chance to win you can comment on this post and tell me something about your applique adventures. For a second chance to win, become a follower and leave another comment here saying so. If you’re already a follower, just leave a comment telling me that. A third chance to win is to sign up to receive an email when I add a post to the blog – that’s on my left sidebar. And a fourth chance to win is to add a link of a post on your blog or photo group of a project that has applique – this can be a past, present or future project –even a book you like that has applique. I like to look at applique so much you get two chances to win for this one. I’ll just add one for you after I visit your post.  Every comment is an entry, so you have a total of five chances to win!  I will draw a winner, using a random number generator on Wednesday and announce next thursday.
Good Luck!

  1. Oh dear, my applique work has been minimal. I've appliqued a silhouetted lighthouse against a strip background. I also appliqued a sihouetted firefighter in full gear climbing over large rubble in front of a large flag background for 9/11 - except he wound up looking more like a pregnant Statue of Liberty lol. Thanks for a chance to win some help! VermontPines@aol.com

  11. I love to look at applique. I would love to get better at it. I guess that means I have to do more of it. I do have a big applique project designed, I just have to select fabrics and get started. It will be a very long term project.

  16. I have a love/hate with applique...I love the look but get frustrated when my stitches aren't all I hope for. At the moment, I have four applique projects going...two Baltimores, one music quilt and a applique and nine patch that actually goes back to the eighties...guess I better pull that one to the front of the list!

  53. About 40 years ago my first piece of applique work was an English design by "Stitchcraft" magazine. It was a design of sea creatures which I completed in shades of oranges and blues and is on a woven beige mix background fabric and had embroidery as well. It is still on show in my upstairs hall.
