Boy, did I find a wonderful needle for this technique! It all started with a blog post by Kay MacKensie at All About Applique. She was recommending these for batiks, but I love them so far for everything. It is like slicing through soft butter. They're are so smooth! And with the gold eye, they are so easy to thread. Just as Kathy Delaney said on her website,
"You will absolutely LOVE these #11 applique needles. They are coated to make them glide through fabric with such ease! The gold eye make the needles easier to thread. " you will love these for appliqué.
In fact, I'm going to giveaway two needles to two quilters who comment on this post. Add your link to the list below and you'll have another chance to win. Follow me and that will be your third chance to win. Be sure to leave your email if you use anonymous.
Those needles sound wonderful. Picking one day a week to devote to your applique will be very useful. You don't have to do a lot but eventually your projects will be finished.
ReplyDeleteKeep up the great work and inspiration.

ReplyDeleteGee you were so quiet today I thought you were gone.
ReplyDeleteI decided to go work on my Bunny Hill Snowbound blocks that I started last year. I started block 4 today and added the snowman (with no face yet) and the Christmas Tree.
Now I have to check out the needles.

ReplyDeleteGreat job! Great idea to devote one day to something in particular. I've always found that just fifteen minutes can make a difference. Now, to find those fifteen minutes! Lol
ReplyDeleteI found your blog through Billie and I am so glad that I did!! :) I will definitely have to try the needles!! Thanks for the tips!! I am so tired of using needles that have to be forced or pushed through a batik - not much fun but it sounds like these will be great!!

ReplyDeleteFirst I fell in love with fabric. Then it was quilt patterns. Now I'm sure it will be needles, followed closely by thread. Is there no end? ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the giveaway.
Blogger wouldn't bring up the "followers" link, so I signed up to follow your postings via email/feedburner. I hope that counts--I'll keep trying!
