This Weather

You've probably heard that this part of drought ridden Southern California has finally been getting some rain - almost 2 inches on Valentine's Day. And with it came cold. We are near to our year's total already.  So we are delighted with the views for now of snow covered mountains around us.
To the North West

To the North

a more distant view East

And the view behind us (taken in the park below us) is a wonderful green.  It's mostly brown for 3/4th's of the year.
We're on the south slope of the mountain - can't see in the photo.
I don't think I would be happy if I couldn't see mountains.  They anchor me.

Sunday's Some of This; Some of That

First the destash - bound a quilt, so there goes .25 yard of fabric out.  Also used 4 fat quarters for a new quilt. It's only the start of this quilt.  So out goes another yard.  Fabric wise, that's it because I've spent most of my time quilting two quilts this past week except for some hand stitching.  YTD total now 28.40 yards.

Here's the quilt I bound today. I showed the whole quilt in my previous post.
Showing the back and binding.
Ready for St. Anne's this Thursday

Here's the new quilt units for my first block of that new quilt:
Not squared up yet. The pattern says to wait till all block units are made.  Will be around 15 1/2" square.

Here's where I'm at on that UFO I"m quilting. What should I put in that outside border of the one partly done?

Really liking the whole cloth look on the back:
I've started the next round on my Bliss project - the two with green stripes. Hope to do more this week starting tonight during TV time.

Lastly for stitching time:
15 minutes stitching days/week = 7/7 days

15 minutes stitching days/Feb = 9/9 days
15 minutes stitching days/2019 =  39/40 days
Success Rate = 97.50%

That's it for this report. How are you doing. Have any quilty plans for this week?  I'm linking to Oh, Scrap!, Sunday Stash Report, 15 Minutes to Stitch 2019 and Design Wall Monday.  There are more linky parties under my tab Linky Parties.  Blessings, and I leave you with this thought:

A late I Like Thursdays and a Friday Finish

Wednesday was getting readY for some library lesson presentations and story times at the library.  Thursday was presenting the lessons and a surprise story time. By the time I got home I was exhausted.

Enough excuses. I did finish a baby quilt:
All it needs now is binding.  I love the center dogie fabric!

All of this flannel fabric wAS leftover from previous St. Anne's quilts. I used the cotton fabric on the back. My flannel medallion was too cute not be front and center.

Throughout last week, I spent more time at home except for my assignment. It was just too cold for me. However I did take a walk with DH and saw our neighbor up the hill had installed a fascinating windmill.
The merest of a breeze would make it turn.
I like what he did for the base.

To the left of our hill is Cucamonga Peak again covered with snow from the last two storms.
The right side of the hill has a view of the easterly mountains. They are spectacular, but I haven't had a chance to take a photo.

We have sightings of new flowers in our yard.
The geraniums have begun blooming.

We found our first Bird of Paradise

Our Christmas poinsettia is still as beautiful as when we got it in early December.

I'm linking to Finished or Not Friday, Can I Get a Whoop, Whoop, Let's Make Baby Quilts, and Free Motion Mavericks. You'll find them in my Linky Parties tab under the header.  Blessings!

October Doings

October is behind us.  Does that put us in the Winter months?  I think it does. The skies have been foggy in the mornings - a thick fog that...
