The baby panel turned out cute, especially with the coordinating fabric for the backing.
The St Anne ladies who sandwiched it used a fleece like batting. It made the quilt a bit more puffy than I'm use to. I machine quilted with my FMQ foot around the prints, animals, flowers and the lines delineating the inner squares. As I mentioned before - this was practice for getting the right "hum" from the machine to produce even stitches. The inner border was done with a walking foot.
I waited til this morning to post this WIPs Be Gone, so I could announce the winner of the $10 Fat Quarter Shop gift certificate. And the winner is Margaret. I've sent you an email, Margaret. Congratulations! I hope to hear from you soon.

ReplyDeleteOh, that quilt for St. Anne's is so cute! You did a great job on the quilting. Thanks for the offer on the hexagons. That's a sweet win for someone. =)
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is adorable- great job on the quilting. I need to make my bobbin case. I really loved working on the inchy hexagon club block. I'm addicted to those tiny hexs now!
ReplyDeleteYour baby quilt makes me want to have another baby (just kidding!) or at least know someone who has one. It is so pretty, soft and charming.
ReplyDeleteI've been having a good time watching everyone keep up with the Splendid Sampler blocks. I have been getting the emails, and several are really calling me to make them up, but I'm living vicariously through the rest of you. I understand your feeling of maybe calling 48 enough. It's hard to keep up with it.
ReplyDeleteThe baby quilt is adorable! I really need to get a few panel prints for FMQ practice. Yours looks so good, as thought it was all appliqué at first!
ReplyDeleteThat bobbin case block will make a great quilt! I can just imagine what it would look like in scraps. The fluffy batting really makes the quilting on the baby quilt pop - I think you did a fantastic job, and it's a great idea to use a panel for FMQ practice. It looks so cuddly soft! Thanks so much for sharing your projects on MCM. :)
