It's been a while since I reported my destashing efforts. Thought I'd start with that this Sunday. What with four baby quilt tops, one completed baby quilt, 6 Splendid Sampler blocks, a QAL block, various mug rugs, and a yard donated. I'm up to YTD 26.21 yards.
My slow stitching for today is hexagons. These are 3/8"to a side. I am now sewing them into a circle.
Since I've been doing so much paper piecing for the Splendid Sampler blocks, I decided to see if I could paper piece a hexagon. After much effort and lots of seam ripping, I was able to make one.
The back and the front. Don't tell me - I now know it would have been easier to have appliqued a hexagon - LOL.
On my design wall are WIPs I will be working on slowly but surely - my set of hexagons (made with 1" hexies) and my left over stars.
Speaking of hexies, my WIPs Be Gone hexagon giveaway is still on. Ends Thursday, midnight. Go back to my 6/25 post to learn more. You could win enough papers to make 15 hexie flowers.
It's a new week! Praise God.

Three days of playing with scraps and yardage. Just need 2 borders to make this a finished baby quilt flimsy. Blessings,

Yesterday was a tad difficult. Not only did I have the fun of having both boys here, but my TMJ and allergies were acting up, it got to...

Sighhhh.... While I was quilting I ran my finger, somehow, under the needle. Went right through my left index fingernail right through to...
You have a lot of things on the go - just like me it seems. My SIL is doing the Splendid Sampler block but I resisted the siren call. I have several projects on the go and resisting starting new things that aren't already on my "to do" list. I make quilts for my great nieces and nephews and have had 2 born lately that are quiltless still as well as 2 other babies born to friends that are lacking in their Ozzypip quilt so they are a priority.
ReplyDeleteYou are a little like the fabric...a busy bee! I like the way that you paper pieced the hexagon. I'm sure it seemed tedious, but I like the way the seams make it tessellate. I look forward to seeing the progress of your hexies in your next post.
ReplyDeleteLove the look of both hexagons. Good work on the destashing. Our Tuesday group has just got back from the long arm quilter, the hexagon quilt we are finishing that was taken on for the partner of a quilter who passed away. It looks great.
