As to stash, I used 2 yards for part of the front and all of the back of the latest baby quilt, and a 1/3rd yd to finish a preemie quilt top. My YTD total now stands at 4.34 yards destashed.
Here's the next to the last baby quilt with the top all finished.
If I made this pattern again, think I'd make the square in the center a square in a square so th it would be a solid block and show off the print more. Now to sandwich and quilt. BTW: this pattern is from Moda's Big Block 2 booklet. It has some really nice 32" blocks. You can easily make a big lap quilt with four of these blocks. I make one block for a neonatal quilt.
As to slow Sunday stitching, I'm happy to report I was able to do some every day of last week and today also. So:
I only have one side of a diamond left to whip stitch to my large hexagon and I can show it to you.
What are you up to? Would love to know. Leave me a comment and I'll come by and see your work.
Blessings!

Yesterday was a tad difficult. Not only did I have the fun of having both boys here, but my TMJ and allergies were acting up, it got to...

I love this quilt--that flowery print is so lovely...Slowly slowly--my word for 2016!! I am thinking that I started quilting to ENJOY the process--not to win any races or contests (not that there's anything wrong with that--just not for me!!)
ReplyDeletethe hexies are coming along so well.
I have four more horizontal seams to quilt beside on Steven's quilt and I am hoping to do one this morning before taking DH for his follow-up surgery appointment; then: (YAY) we are going to get (as a reward for his stitches coming out--ouchey!!) Chinese take out on the way home...yummy General Tso's chicken --ahhhh..Hope you have a fun day and are able to fit in some sewing time hugs, Julierose
I love both! The baby quilt is great, and I love hearing that you are doing these from scraps. I have hexagons on my afternoon agenda. Now I hope I get there! Yours are looking beautiful. I love batiks.
ReplyDeleteMaking piles of flying geese, for a medallion quilt started over a year ago. There is no pattern for it, I am just making it up as I go along, hence the time lapses when nothing happens because I'm dithering about what to do next....
ReplyDeleteVery cute crib quilt. Just wanted to let you know, the hexies came in the mail today. Thank you so much. I probably won't do anything with hexies this winter, but I have an EPP project I've started that I will be working on this summer. Blessings, Gretchen
ReplyDeleteI really like the new baby quilt!
ReplyDeleteWhat a striking design your quilt is - quite agree about the centre square. Great hexie work. xx
ReplyDeleteBeautiful little quilt you are working on. Lovely hexies.
ReplyDeleteGreat looking work there! Love your little quilt, it's a striking pattern!
ReplyDeleteSadly, I didn't get my hexagons out this week. I have Saturday set as my day to work on them since that is usually the only day of the week that I actually get to stay home most of the day.
ReplyDeleteVery bright and fun baby quilt. Congrats on the destashing effort, it's a good start for 2016.
ReplyDeleteLovely colours on the baby quilt - thanks for the tip about the Moda blocks book , I must check it out... thanks too for linking up with PYT!
