Well I didn't do this applique, but I want to share it with you. Some have already seen it in the past few days. The cardinal is pieced, the berries and the leaves are appliqued. I really like blocks that are pieced and have some applique. I did embroider an eye. Here is the finished Christmas wall hanging. I like it but I would have liked another border (green) around it. Oh, well.

It finished up lovely, Angie. I am also drawn to the visual appeal of piecing with a 'touch of applique'. I would have struggled fussing with the little berries, tho.
