I had fun making the blocks sent to me to test. Each time I got one, I wondered what technique I'd be using. this is Cindy Simms' "Around the Square". I made mine in red, white and blue prints. It went together smoothly. And it is block #296 on page 73 of the v.3 issue.
If you'd like to see it (and the other 99)in your very own issue, leave a comment and perhaps I'll draw your number in my giveaway of this collector's edition.
There are 2 ways you can win:
1. Leave a comment comparing my version and Cindy's version which you can see here . It's the first block featured as you scroll down the post. And while you're there you can enter Quiltmaker's giveaway for lots of other prizes too!
2. Become a follower and let me know you are following. If you are already a follower, remind me and you'll have a second chance too.
That's it! Hope you win this great issue. I will use the random number generator to draw a winner so be sure to leave me your contact info if you use anonymous to play. Drawing will be May 9th at 9AM PDT.

Ah, I hate to compare that way. I like them both, honestly, but I tell you I am such a fan of red, white, and blue that I have to lean in that direction. I also love the print combinations you used and it's nice seeing something other than stars. Wished you would have published a pic with this in an entire quilt layout! What fabric line is that?
ReplyDeleteI am a brand new follower, thanks!
ReplyDeleteBoth blocks are pretty but I do like the strong contrasts in your block.
ReplyDeleteI want to win and I can't tell the difference cause I can't see the one from Cindy. I am a follower too! Yippee, two chances to win. We will see.
