My entry in the Fall Blogger's Quilt Festival

Amy is at it again and providing us with the largest display of quilts on the Net and prizes too!  Above is my entry. I call it Bullseye Blossoms.  I took part in an online swap of bullseye blocks.  These are pieced with raw edges.  In making the bullseye, I had a lot of circles left over from cutting out the backs of the blocks. I saved these wondering what I would do with them.  When my blocks came back from the swap and I laid them out I realized I wanted a bigger quilt.  So I pulled out those circles and drew a flowering template and cut our the blossoms you see on the center.  The entire quilt is scrappy except for the borders which came from my stash.  I quilted it as a Quilt as You Go and really like how it turned out.

  3. What a fun scrap quilt! I love how you were able to make use of the extra circles by turning them into flowers. That was an inspired solution!

  8. I love scrappy quilts and yours is great. What a creative use of scraps to enlarge this. I have made many ragged edge quilts and love the softness of them once washed. Really enjoyed seeing this. Love Lois

  10. VEry nice! I am in the process of a quilt with circles like yours...I called them Mixed Sushi Rolls, as they look like the circle version of Bento Boxes! I had meant to have that quilt done for the festival, but ran into a snag...hope to have it done soon!

    Happy Festival!

  11. I love circle quilts and the flowers in it add real charm and beauty to the quilt- I look forward to the day when I retire so I can make even more quilts.
The paperweight quilt is quite manageable- especially if you sew it together in rows of half the hexagons. I think it would work quite well. I have been working on a tumbling blocks quilt for a long time now - it keeps getting put on the back burner while I complete quilts that need to be done. Perhaps someday I will finish it.
Thanks for dropping by my blog- I hope that you will come and visit again.
    Enjoy the festival.
    Regards,
    Anna

All Comes to A Halt

Sighhhh....  While I was quilting I  ran my finger, somehow, under the needle. Went right through my left index fingernail right through to...
