Some of This; Some of That

Worked in the sewing room all the days of last week.  Mostly, I'm quilting, so it doesn't have a lot of ops for photos.  But here is what I've been working on:
Assembled Section One of the Arrow Rock Sampler.

Made the next set of blocks  from scraps for Section 7 - we're not doing them in order.

2/3 rds done with two more crabs.

Just about to begin quilting the borders on my UFO.

So for destashing:  I used 0.49 yds for a YTD total of  11.72 yds. And as to 15 Minutes to Stitch:

15 minute days/week = 7/7 days

15 minute days/May = 29/30 days

15 minute days/2020 = 135/151
Success rate = 89.40%

Each week a little climb up in percentage. Hope that continues.

What are you up to?  Leave me a comment and I'll come take a look.  I'll be linking to Sunday Stash, Design Wall Monday, Oh! Scrap, and 15 Minutes to Stitch. Stay safe this week.

Some of This; Some of That

Let's start with the positive stuff. I was able to put in 15 Minutes to Stitch every day this week because I'm still sheltering in place.  I only go out about once every ten days usually just to use the car.  Surprisingly, most days it doesn't bother me to be home with DH doing things around the house, or reading, or quilting, or gardening, or working on a jigsaw puzzle,
Here's the one we just finished.  You know it's hard when you have to use a magnifying glass to check color changes.

or a little housework. Notice what came last.  Some days I wonder if this is what (in a very loose way) cloistered nuns feel when they dedicate themselves to a cell for days on end.  I'll have to research that. My numbers now are

15 minute days/week = 7/7 days
15 minute days/May = 15/16 days
15 minute days/2020 = 121/137 days
Success rate = 88.32%

Now for the destashing.  I made two masks for my BFF.  Here they are:

They only took 20 minutes each, and used up .39 yd.  I also made a "4 in a 4 in a 4" as shown on Em's Scrapbag.  That used up 0.53 yd.

Then I made three  more crabs - I'm up to 4 - for another 0.17 yd. So my new total is 11.23 yds I may have to halve my desired total for the year to 50 yards to come anywhere near a goal.

So what else is new? Well that scrap snapper baby quilt top is a flimsy now and off to the "to be sandwiched pile".  You can see my four crabs above it.

I'm still quilting that UFO and hand stitching my facing on my No Greater Love quilt.  I should be done with that this evening as I don't have much more to do - less than one edge.

Take care, be safe - please continue to wear a mask and socially distance, now especially as we move slowly toward normal.  This is a ever mutating bug and it will be a while til we have a vaccine.

Blessing to you all.  I'm linking to Design Wall Monday, Faith and Fabric Quilt AlongSunday Stash Report, 15 Minutes to Stitch, and Oh, Scrap!.  Come on by.

Late with Some of This; Some of That

Destashing is going slow this year, but I did pull out a yard ( 10.00 yds is my new YTD ) to make 5 masks - I know that is pitiful compared to others, but I'm persisting. Here is the type I like to make. I find they go faster than making the ones with pleats.  It's the ties that make it so.
I've made 30 total now.  Just finished one for my neighbor as he is going golfing tomorrow and doesn't find the N-95 comfortable.  So many are saying they can't breathe with these home made masks.  What do you recommend for the second layer to make them more breathable?

Oh and I made some more 6 1/2" blocks for my Scrap Snapper quilt.  That's another 0.14 yd of scraps sewn into blocks.  So really that YTD total is 10.14 yds.  This is what they look like.  I've decided I'm going to make a baby quilt and stop at 38 blocks. But I probably will keep making these Scrap Snapper blocks. My problem with scraps is when I don't have a plan, it takes me forever to decide what to sew to what. Kari gives you a plan and her instructions for the 10 blocks are great. If you'd like to learn about them go here.
Not the best photo, but it gives you an idea of what it's like.
Nothing on my Design Wall right now.  I'm still quilting that UFO and binding my No Greater Love.
I must confess I have gotten distracted by a new puzzle, and it is hard! Hubby and I are trying to get to bed earlier now that the mornings come sooner.  It is so nice to work in the morning.  We're aiming for 9:30 PM as night-night, but here it is 9:36 and I'm working on a post.  So you see how that is going.  At least I've done the kitchen already.  Linking to Design Wall Monday

Have a great week and stay safe. Blessings to all.

October Doings

October is behind us.  Does that put us in the Winter months?  I think it does. The skies have been foggy in the mornings - a thick fog that...
