my first of three houses for my Sweet Land of Liberty bottom border. This was a bit challenging as it had to be a 4.5" house block unfinished. Finally printed out Lori's photo of her houses and adjusted for the size - her's are 5x7 and mine as I said 4.5. Bit wonky, but it will do. Had to approach it as a bit of paper piecing and patchwork. Now to do the other two.

When the Grands are over...
...it's hard to blog. So this is late for a I Like Thursdays post, however I liked:
a gathering of clouds
becomes a stormy sky
with sunflowers highlighted in the river bed
It actually did rain Wednesday night. We're still waiting to read how much we got. I'll leave you with my two precious:

and one lone Iris thinking it's Spring.

Some of This; Some of That
For the Raceway quilt, two blocks and a tiny bit for SLOL, I used up 1.43 yds toward my goal. Going through a closet drawer, I pulled out for the guild four more yards. So my new YTD total is 61.70 yds destashed out of the 72 yards I need at this time to meet my year-end goal.
I added my newly finished row to my SLOL and that's what's on my design wall right now. If I finish the border blocks, I'll have completed this top in the coming month. I'll see.
The size of my quilts is constricted by the dimensions where I can hang them. That's why my version will not be as big as others doing the quilt along. But I like it so far as my first primitive quilt.
