Applique Thursday and More 3/22/12

This is late as we left the house at 7:50 AM to go out of town to see our grandson in his first play.  And I didn't get it posted last night as I was in a funk after a call from my Doctor at 5:00 pm that the ultrasound did show I have gall stones (yes, plural) and she wants me to see a surgeon.  So I have gall stones and kidney stones - where did all these rocks come from and WHY?

Oh well, onto better things - something applique-ish.  I am ready to start assembling my first flower for Esther's BOM, but have been waiting for a background to come in.  It did yesterday, but now I'm in a quandry - Don't know which combo to pick!  Can you help me out and tell me which you think would work.  I put a colored copy of the first flower on the background to help you.  Picture the flowers much more yellow when you look at them.  My yellow crayon just doesn't show up good.  Okay, what do you think?

Version 2

Version 3
Please leave a comment with your opinion - I'm open to all suggestions  - even mixing them.  And if you can, leave a link to some eye candy for me - I need prepping up for the coming weeks.  Thanks!  You are so helpful and comforting.

  1. Hmm, not the first one, second one is nice but i really like the flowers on the dark background! It is going to be gorgeous! Happy stitching!

  2. I am sorry to hear you are having health problems. Gall Bladder surger was a breeze for me.
Make sure they do the laser type though. I would choose your second set for the backgrounds, borders. Good luck, can't wait to see it finished.

  3. Sorry to hear about your gallbladder and kidney stones. You will feel so much better when the gallstones are removed. I like the third one best as the flower just pops off the dark background. Can't wait to see what you decide.

  4. I just have to say it, you rock!! Sorry to hear about the gall bladder and the kidney stones. But get that gall bladder outta there, all it's doing it throwing rocks all over, who needs it. Hope you feel better soon. Love the sun flowers, they look incredible on that red background.

  5. I'm torn between 2 and 3...Love the red background but wonder how it will look with future blocks...I'm glad you posted this cause I am in a standstill trying to decide too. Good luck with the "stones"...Nurse input is much better to get them out now if needed than to wait until they cause more problems..infection, etc...Recovery is so much quicker

  6. 3 - 2 - 1....grin. Number 3 really pops, but I guess it depends on the other flowers. That's the hard party about mysteries. Of course, they can all have different back grounds.

    Get the rocks out.....I did.

  7. I vote for the red - not knowing what the rest of the blocks look like. Hope your health issues get resolved soon.

  8. Thanks for the linky party! Sorry to hear about the gal and kidney stones what a bummer!

  9. Oops, forgot to tell you I like #3 or #2. I think #1 the florals would take away from the applique.
