Favorite Things Friday 8/19/11

One of my favorite quilting things is scrap quilts - and look what I won 9 scrappy split nine-patch blocks last night at my guild meeting!  Since they're 12 1/2" square, they'll make a bright and quick charity quilt.  Love the repeating pattern that emerges when put together.

Go on over to my left sidebar and see what others are declaring their friday favorites.  Enjoy!

  1. Have you noticed how our tastes evolve over the years? Now I love scrappy and I love quilts with mixed techniques. I spend more time in my scrap bins than I spend in the yardage! Working with scraps also consumes ALOT of time.

Your scrappy blocks will blend well with any borders you may enclose it with. I can visualize a narrow black border, followed by a calming print.

Oh dear, you didnt ask for my opinion. I always forget that!

  2. Neat! I like the idea of a charity quilt *and* the look of scraps creatively put together.

  3. Scrap quilts are high on my list of favourite things too. They appeal to my thrifty heart and I enjoy the way you can fill a scrap quilt full of memories of other quilts you've made.

I love that you're planning to make this into a charity quilt.

  4. What a nice win Angie! Can't wait to see what you do with them. I've finished 5 quilts since yesterday, layers, quilted, and bound.

  10. That will happen, Marg. It takes a while for the scraps to build up, then they never go away, they're like rabbits during the night!
