June's Blog Post

I didn't mean for a quarter to pass by before I posted again, but that's what happened! Let see if I can summarize all that I been doing as far as quilting - NOT the falls (Mom's and mine) nor the demands of home, care-giving, and life in general. Sooo, here goes:

In March I made my third BOM block into a baby quilt (See Feb post for why I did this). Took a 12" block and made it into a 36" block, big enough for the baby quilts St. Anne wants for newborns.

Waiting to be sandwiched, quilted and bound. Also completed the sew along I created for the St. Anne's ladies. Wish I could show you all the cute versions they made.  Here is mine:

Finally finished all the applique on this Esther Aliu pattern. Phew! Now to  add the next border.

I also finished my contribution to SAHRR (Stay at Home Round Robin:

Then, in April made a pillowcase for my granddaughter's 16th birthday which was on the 16th!

I belong to the Seasoned Makers, an
online group, which acts like a online guild but with online meetings, sip and sew zoom sessions, and provides all kinds of patterns to demo the great videos it displays of different tricks to piecing blocks , and making quilts from them.  I made a baby quilt from the weathervane block from one of those videos:

Made it into a  baby quilt measuring 36" square.

In June finished a demo of a carpenter star for the St. Anne's Sewdality group. They learned to make 4 flying geese at once. As far as we've gotten:

That's it for this quarter. I'll try to do better and keep you posted on what I'm up to quilty wise. Blessings and stay safe.
