Some of This and Some of That

Quilted

 Bound
Ready to wash and deliver to my Guild's Community Service for the local NICU.
These are crumb blocks I made years ago.  I've found that if I make crumb blocks from the scraps of one quilt, they go together much faster.  One off my UFO list - one of the 17UFOs in 2017 I"m working on.  Measure 30" square.

As to the winners of the last two giveaways.  I'm sorry Moira and ledamewood  (Last week's winner - I've sent a message).  It's been a crazy three weeks. So now I'll have a bit of time to make the templates and send (hopefully).  I leave Thursday for a 10 day trip to CO and WA.

I'll be making those templates while I watch Father Brown.

I hope you all have a wonderful week.

Fabric Tuesday 10/25/11

I made these last week in a few mintues between events - my sanity savers of those days.  I wish I had had more time to make others, but I am going to have to put the crumb along on hold until I am back from Houston.
Here are two log cabins I finished.

Are you playing with fabric? Click on Fabric Tuesday by Quilt Story and see what others are doing.  And click on the Crumb-along and see where Jo is taking the crumb makers this week - both on the left sidebar.  Enjoy.

Crumb-Along #4

Now those were easy and I even had some 4 patches hanging around and was able to make those crumbs quick.

In there is a heart I made and a couple of crumby crumbs.  Oops my 9 patch looks too light - I'm going to have to make extra crumbs to have some leeway in the layout.  They can always go on the back.  Click here to see Jo's instructions for this week and her linky participants.  Not too late to join!

WIP Wednesday 9/14/11

Posting early cuz tomorrow is a busy day.  My mom is having her second cataract surgery, so won't be home much.

I'm taking part in a crumb-along at Jo's Country Junction.  I have so many scraps I need to do this.  It's a little bit more ordered than the ones I've made before, but so far I like it!  The first blocks we made are flying geese.  Here's how far I got tonight. I was suppose to make 2.  I'll work on it during the week and finish the second one and make some more flying geese units for later star blocks

Go on over to WIP Wednesday at freshly pieces (the button is on my left sidebar) and see what others are working on.  Lee usually has a ton of people showing their latest.    And Jo has a linky too - Lots of eye candy!

Mom's here - bye for now.

Hey! There's a Crumb-Along!

Every time I browse my blog list, I get into trouble.  This time I went over to Angela's So Scrappy post and learned about a Crumb-Along at Jo's Country Junction.  And since I have a ton of crumbs I decided to join in!
Today's the first day, so plenty of time for you to join to if you'd like to do these addictive little blocks that result in great quilts.  Here's what the button looks like:
Crumb Along!

Go on over and see what it's all about if you'd like to get rid of some of your crumbs.

Design Wall Monday 5/30/11

Yesterday, I finished the fourth charity quilt, but I'll talk about that tomorrow for Fabric Tuesday.  I was going to pull out my ufo I'm suppose to finish, then decided I really had to clean up my cutting/design wall area before it toppled over.  Well, got that done and wound up with a pile of scraps I found at the left side of the table. I should have taken a picture of it - it was so bad - but here it is CLEAN.  I may print out this photo to remind myself this can happen - LOL.  So once I'd folded and put away the fabric pieces - darn, the stash doesn't look so lean any more - I found myself with this pile of scraps.  Got out my ruler and before I knew it, I had piles of 2" , 2 1/2", 3", 3 1/2" 4 and 5" pieces.  Put those away and all I had left were the odd ones out.  I then decided to make them into crumb blocks instead of stuffing them in the scrap box. Came out with 16 crumb blocks ala Bonnie Hunter.
I'm happy to report this is all I have left - not enough to make a block - yeah!  I don't mind adding these to the scrap heap.
Go on over to Judy's Patchwork Times - her button is on the left sidebar and see what others are doing.

Spot of sunshine and crumb block tip.

Have I told you it's been overcast here? Yesterday we had a break in the weather for about 10 minutes and the sun shone.  Here is what I saw out my kitchen window - one of the few spots I still have some color in the garden.  See that tiny black cloud in the sky?  Within five minutes another storm front had moved in.  It got gloomy again but no rain.  Same weather today.  On the quilting front, I made a crumb block for a demo on another list.  One thing I forgot to say in that post is that I use any bobbin partly filled with thread and any thread left over from projects when I'm making these guys.  You could say I use up my "scrap thread" that way - LOL.

Progrees is Made

Progress is made, at least some.  More blocks were added to the baby quilt I was working on (see previous post). More scraps were used. I...
