WIPs Be Gone Week 13

A strange week - think depression is getting to me. Not very productive. The two below are not going on my WIP list because I have a long way to go with them. As to the list, I"m auditioning various fabrics for the floater border between the Bird of Paradise background and the last border.  I finished prepping  the main part of BBWQ Block 5. I think I mislead a few of you when you looked at the block in the Applique Tuesday post.  Only the inner border and about 1/8th of the outer seams were turned over the freezer paper.
It is now fully prepped. Just have to make the four buds that go in the corner and I can set it on the background 16" square of muslin.  As for #1, I tweaked the pattern on this one, also.  Just seemed too heavy for me as it was given.

I also worked on part one of the Katja's QAL Rosette #1. I'm not happy with this, but I'm going to go with my choices and see how it develops:
In day light the center does not stand out so much.  I think I'll incorporate some teal, and maybe some pink, in the next round. I'll see. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciate.  I just may make a yellow center and try again - sigh. Color combos are hard for me.

How are you doing on your wips?Would love to see - doesn't have to be a finish, but we'll admire those, too.  Linky below - remember it doesn't have to be a new post, just one that shows a WIP.  Ends Monday, midnight.  I'm linking to Sarah's Can I get a Whoop, Whoop? and Kelly's Needle and Thread ThursdaysLots of eye candy there.

  1. which pattern in the book are you using? I am using the La Passacaglia -- maybe it is too much red you are using and not enough variation?

  2. Depressed: Or maybe, just the winter blues! Winter has held on for a long while for you. I struggle with color combinations too....sometimes, I walk away and coming back with new eyes helps. Hang in there.

  7. A little sunshine before noon and heat will be good and so is your work. Teal or yellow could work.
    Thank you for your posts.

  8. Depression is so terrible, I struggle daily. But I got a lamp that mimics sunlight and it seems to help. It's also perfect for back light for paper piecing! LOL
