Design Wall Monday & A Giveaway!

I was looking at my dashboard and realized this will be my 750th post. Wow! So I've decided to have a special giveaway for you, my readers.  There will be two winners.  The first one will win a mystery box with seven items - maybe a little fabric, a book, a charm pack, a pattern, a notion - seven items. The second winner will get a box with 5 items.  Are you interested? Leave me a comment answering this question:  What is your favorite charity quilt pattern?   And if you'd like more chances to win become a follower or leave another comment saying you're already a follower. And lastly, earn another chance by linking (doesn't have to be a new post) a post that shares one of your charity quilts.
Here's the button:

Now onto quilting news. Last week was so busy and today is my volunteer day, so not much different on my design wall. I'm halfway done with the nine patch squares I need.   Ten days left to finish the blocks.  I'm linking to Judy's Patchwork Times and Lyn's BOMs Away. Check out what others have on their walls.

  4. Gosh! I don't know what my favorite charity quilt pattern is - I enjoy pinwheels and spiderweb stripping, but if you have some really fun fabric to work with, just plain squares floated on a neutral background is super cool and easy, too. :D

  5. I'm a follower. ;D (and your pinwheel blocks are looking fun!)

  6. I like to make a variety of patterns - there are so many simple but fun ones. I've made snowballs, I Spy, and Rail Fence and a combo of Snowball and Rail Fence. My latest is a Cobble Stones pattern. I guess the fav would be the Snowball. It goes together fairly easily, yet is a bit complex.
    What's your fav?
    Hugs

  7. Oh gosh, I don't think I have a favorite pattern. I like variety. :-) String blocks are always fun and make cute quilts. Love your pinwheel in the 9-patch. Congrat's on 750+!

  12. I like to use I-Spy charms in my charity quilts. I use a variety of patterns. Sometimes I sew a border around the charms. I also made a charity quilt with an argyle pattern using charms. Thanks for the opportunity to win your giveaway and congratulations on all those posts. WTG!

  14. For kid quilts, I-spy style snowball blocks come together quickly, made in any size, and can be made for girls, boys, younger kids, older kids ... and adults ;-)

  15. I just came across your blog (through BillieBee's post about your question and giveaway). I think my favorite charity pattern is a Giant Star Quilt - it is easy, uses quite a bit of fabric and, in my case, I ended up with a second charity quilt that I call ZigZag. I actually just posted about these two last Friday - I think the charity quilt thing is out in blogland since many are due in the summer.

  17. I make a lot of charity quilts for our prayer quilt group. I don't have a favorite pattern. For a while we made a lot of split 9-patch windmills, but I got tired of piecing them and quilting them (which is not to say I won't make another some day). I think it's a lot more fun to make unique quilts (even if I use the same block pattern, I make the quilts look different). That said, I understand that some people enjoy making the same things multiple times.

  18. Congratulations on 750 posts! My favorite pattern to use is Tumbling Charms and if I get tired of that I use anything with 2 1/2" strips or big stars. I find them all fast, easy and you can get lots of patterns from just those basics.

  37. I don't really have a favorite charity quilt pattern. I kinda make up my own as I go. I did like making little burial gowns for babies that sadly were unable to survive. It was heartbreaking but it gave comfort to the parents that their little 2-3 lb baby had a burial gown :(

  49. Well, I guess divided 9 patch with I spy novelties is my favorite charity pattern. I 've done a really big one and a mini for charity. I participate in I Spy swaps so have a great collection of 4 inch novelty blocks. (I've also made 3 for nephews).
