Design Wall Monday - 4/22/13

I'm working on a St. Anne's baby quilt.  Cut up a panel and trying to make it more square. It would be nice if textile houses would make them closer to 36 by 42 instead of the 26 by 42 that they usually are.  Sometimes I find ones 42" square - that's great!, but not very often.

Am I the only one who feels that way? Any suggestions?

I'm linking over to Judy's Patchwork Times to see other's design walls. Have a wonderful day!

  1. I read somewhere that most panels are 24 inches wide because that is the size of the screen print drums that are used to print the fabric. I much prefer at least a 36 inch wide panel!

  2. A wider one would be nice, but if this is printed along the length of grain then you could concievably get two panels in 1.25 yards of fabric. Right?

  3. I agree. Panels are difficult to deal with because they are so tall and skinny.

Thank you for stopping by. It's always nice to hear from you. I try to reply to each and every one of you, but sometimes life gets in the way. I hope you understand. Blessings.
